lilfest music festival 2007

a three-day celebration of making music for arts integrated education

with so many needs in our world, i try to put my time and energy behind organizations that create systemic change that self-multiplies.

lilfest music festival 2007 will benefit cape:  chicago arts partnership in education which builds deeply integrated partnerships between artists and schools.

 nancy jones emrich

07partnership

it's not magic, it can be replicated, and it works.  the cape model brings radical change to schools through integration of arts into the whole curriculum.  partnering artists with teachers in long term, multi-disciplinary, focused, researched and documented ways, changes student learning for the better.  indeed, successful artist/teacher collaborations address school morale, teacher retention, conflict resolution, teaching methods, curricula, while honoring the students intelligence, creative nature and natural imitative.

as individuals and as a world, we need capes tight, efficient, effective model working in many more schools in chicago, and replicated throughout education globally.

lilfest music festival is in its fourth year, presenting quality music from across america, across the midwest, across chicago.  youll hear folk, singer/songwriter, classical, rock, jazz, blues, open mike, jams and more.  north american touring artists and chicago stars from the open mics.  teachers from cape schools, students, neighbors and stars.
